Empowering Ability Through Digital Skills: A Transformative 3 Day Journey

Adapt IT recently had the privilege of sponsoring a three day Digital Skills Training programme in partnership with our ESD partner, Dig n Decker (Pty) Ltd, aimed at empowering young adults living with disabilities.

What unfolded over those three days was far more than a training session. It was a celebration of resilience, potential, and the power of inclusive opportunity.

With 20 remarkable participants, each living with different disabilities, the room quickly filled with a sense of curiosity, courage, and determination. What began as a skills development initiative evolved into a life changing experience for everyone involved.

Day 1: Building Foundations of Confidence and Curiosity

The first day was filled with energy, anticipation, and open hearts. Many participants arrived unsure of what to expect, yet eager to learn. What stood out immediately was their willingness to participate fully — disabilities did not define them; their determination did.

We encouraged questions, interaction, and the freedom to express themselves. This created an environment of trust and engagement that set the tone for the programme.

Day 2: Growth, Expression, and Newfound Confidence

By day two, transformation was evident. Participants grew more comfortable, more vocal, and more confident in tackling the digital content.

Many shared personal reflections about how the training was opening doors of possibility, inspiring them to pursue future employment and independence with renewed hope.

Day 3: Celebration, Pride, and Achievement

The final day was nothing short of inspiring. Learners engaged with assurance, demonstrated a clear understanding of the concepts, and completed the programme with remarkable confidence. The certificate and prize giving ceremony was a true highlight, filled with joy, pride, and well deserved applause. It was a powerful moment of recognition, celebrating not only their achievements over the three days, but also the bright possibilities that lie ahead.
