For Adapt IT, sustainability has always been a factor in the group’s operations; it is how we create value for all of our stakeholders, continually balancing the interests of internal and external stakeholders, with particular attention to achieving efficiencies for clients, optimising shareholder value and reinvesting internally in people and technology.
As part of the continued improvements to processes, Adapt IT has embarked on a journey to include Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Standards to the current reporting framework, which includes standards such as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards, the King Code on Corporate Governance 2016 (King IV™) and the JSE Listings Requirements.
The GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards will enable us to improve our sustainability reporting and align more closely with international standards.
Adapt IT is committed to empowerment beyond just compliance; it is a strategic imperative that plays a role in the sustainability of the company and drives transformation. The Employment Equity drive and Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) initiatives are a market differentiator and afford Adapt IT the opportunity to make positive invest in internal and external stakeholders.
The Sustainability Report is a supplementary report to the Integrated Annual Report for the year ended 30 June 2019. Previously the Sustainability Report was included in the Integrated Annual Report, however, as Adapt IT endeavours to improve on it sustainability reporting, the decision was taken to publish a separate report this year and going forward.
